Your closet is full of somebody else's favorite thing

We all own something lovely that never leaves the house: the bag still in its dust cover, the dress worn once, the piece that never found a wall. Bring it to the party. It sells one of three ways, and every sale goes to families who need support.

Shop all night

The marketplace

Racks and tables of clothing, accessories and home pieces from the best closets in the neighborhood. Browse with a drink in your hand.

Write your bid

Silent auction

Put your name and number on the sheet, then keep an eye on it. Somebody always comes back to outbid you.

Raise your hand

Live auction

The standout items go up in front of the whole party with a microphone and a very loud crowd.

What shows up on the tables

Some of it comes out of our closets. Some of it is donated by women who run their own businesses.

From local businesses

Services and gift certificates donated by owners

  • Spa services
  • Interior design services

From our closets

The gently used items that go fastest

  • Purses
  • Shoes
  • Jewelry

Own a business?

Donate a service, a gift certificate or a standout item for the auction.

Corporate sponsors wanted

We are looking for companies that can make a donation to help fund the party itself, so more of what we raise goes straight to families.

Interested in either? Text Jen at 310-874-4687.

Where the money goes

Women raising funds for families who need support

All proceeds go directly to families in need. Close to 3,000 people are living in poverty in our own backyard. Our goal is to help as many of those families as we can, not only during the holidays but throughout the entire year.

Where past funds have gone

The help is sized to what a family needs. Sometimes that is small, and sometimes it is enough to get through a month.

A few hundred dollars

Sends a kid to camp.

A few thousand dollars

Carries a family for a month while a spouse is ill or a parent finds a new job.

Families the money has helped

  • Families who recently lost a parent to cancer
  • Single parents struggling to pay bills
  • Older siblings left to care for their younger siblings
  • Parents of terminally ill children

It started in a living room

One person's trash is another person's treasure. That idea has carried the party since 2016.

  1. 2016

    Two dozen women and $800

About two dozen women gathered in a living room, trying to outbid each other on purses, shoes, jewelry and anything else they had brought as their "trash." Each walked away with a new treasure, and together they raised $800 for families in need.

  2. 2016 to 2017

Basic needs through the Midnight Mission

For the first two years, T2T worked with a housing project through a connection to the Midnight Mission, buying bus passes, linens and toiletries for families.

  3. 2019

    Saint Cross by the Sea

T2T partnered with Saint Cross by the Sea Church in Hermosa Beach to support local families during the holiday season. Local school district nurses nominate the families.

  4. 2022

    1736 Family Crisis Center

Saint Cross by the Sea partnered with 1736 Family Crisis Center, giving T2T funds an even wider reach. For the next two years, T2T was the main funding source supporting families during the holidays.

  5. 2025

    Local, and all year

T2T began working closely with local schools and community organizations throughout the year, not just during the holiday season.

We thank every one of you who helps make this possible. It is a united effort, and we are grateful for the chance to make a difference for the people of our community. The T2T Committee

What the night looks like
